Dr. Leyuan Ma to speak on Immune Engineering at Ghislieri

The Ma Laboratory for Engineering Immunity (Ma Lab) is an highly interdisciplinary lab where a research team employ a combination of genetic, chemistry, engineering and computational tools to decode the molecular and cellular crosstalk between immune cells and their microenvironment, and leverage these crosstalk mechanisms to engineer novel biomaterials, protein, and cell-based precision immunotherapies.

On November 11th at 8:30 p.m., Dr. Leyuan Ma, Assistant Professor, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine-University of Pennsylvania and Principal Investigator at Ma Lab, will launch the course Engineering the immune system to treat and protect against diseases with the lecture The immune system, with a focus on T cells and vaccines. The lecture will be held in English at Collegio Ghislieri.

Dr. Ma course is funded by the Visiting USA program of the University of Pavia. During the course Dr. Ma will examine strategies in clinical and preclinical development for manipulating the immune system to treat and protect against diseases, with a focus on cancer
